Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Group
If you've experienced a traumatic event and are having a difficult time coping as a result, this group is for you. |
This is a 12-week psychoeducational program designed to provide a foundation of understanding about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Participants will learn about the common symptoms associated with PTSD, and will be taught basic skills to address these symptoms in everyday life.
The purpose of this group will be to learn skills to help you better cope with the effects of trauma in your life. The effects of traumatic experiences can be pervasive and severe, and without help it can be difficult to overcome their impact on our lives. Fortunately there are many skills and techniques we can use to regain a sense of power. This group will teach you how to apply these basic skills to your own individual situation. You will not be asked to discuss the details of your trauma with the group. Handouts will be provided for each session.
